At International Primary School Groningen, we offer high-quality education for internationally-mobile families located in the northern provinces of the Netherlands. Our school is supervised and subsidised by the Dutch government, with a required financial contribution from parents.
Families are welcome to contact IPSG to schedule a visit at the school or have and online tour. You will be accompanied by the Team Leader or another senior member of staff to introduce you to school life.
Who is eligible to apply to IPSG?
To qualify for admission, pupils must meet at least one of the following eligibility criteria:
The pupil has a non-Dutch nationality (or dual nationality including non-Dutch) and has a parent who is working in the Netherlands or a Dutch border region for a limited time.
The pupil has Dutch nationality and has lived and attended school abroad for at least two years, due to a parent being stationed abroad.
The pupil has Dutch nationality and a parent who will be stationed abroad within two years, and for a period of at least two years. This must be supported by a written statement from the parent’s employer.

What to expect from the admissions process
Step 1: Enquiry about a place
This can be done in person, by phone or by email. Admissions staff or school staff will share the eligibility criteria with parents and check this.
Step 2: Meeting
The school meets with the family to discuss their needs and determine whether the school can meet them.
Step 3: Confirmation
A registration form is completed, and a place is confirmed.
Step 4: Starting school
For younger children or those entering lower grade groups mid-year, we may invite your child to attend a half-day trial session to help transition into school
